Thanks for Visiting...

We created this blog for those interested in finding out how those that love Kate are doing. You will also find photos of those who have come to visit Kate and those who have cared for her during her stay in the hospital.

Hospital Staff

Kate was cared for by a group of wonderful nurses and doctors. Each and every one of them were very loving and obviously had chosen their profession for a reason. Here are some pictures of just a few of those that cared for her:

Laura was the Nurse Practitioner that helped us get ready for surgery. She was also in the OR during the surgery. We saw her many times during Kate's stay. She was awesome.

Nurses Diane and Julie. Julie was Kate's first nurse in the ICU. She made us so comforable that we were able to leave and sleep at the hotel the first night. Diane was her nurse on the next shift (they work 12 hour shifts 7am - 7pm). All the nurses were very patient with us asking lots of questions.

What can you say about the guy that saved your daughter's life? Dr. Azakie... we owe you.

Virginia was our nurse a couple of times. She was one of our favorites.

Hospital Visitors

Peggy and Bill visited the day of her surgery. They have visited a couple more times as well, buying us meals and giving us and Kate wonderful company. They also have taken Julia duty for a few days. Thank you both!

Gayle visited the day after Kate's surgery. Fortunately, she was able to meet Kate a day before her surgery. She also has visited a couple times and generously treated us to meals and her company. Thanks Mom! Corey and Kelly also visited but we neglected to take pictures :( . A big thank you to Corey and Kelly (as well as Mom) for watching Julia over the weekend. Sounds like you guys had a blast. We truly appreciate being able to not have to worry about her.

Bob visited on Saturday and Monday. On top of his great company and gifts of meals, both nights he stayed late and drove us back to the hotel. Our feet and legs thank you!

Gavin and Christina visited on Sunday. They treated us to lunch and their company and brought Kate a stuffed Carebear. This Carebear has special significance because it is decorated with hearts - a symbol which will forever have significant meaning for all of us. Don't worry Julia, I'm sure Kate will share it with you!!! ;)

And not least of all, brought to us by Peggy and Bill... it's Big Sister Julia!!! She did so well visiting her sister in the hospital. We were anxious about having her see Kate in the hospital, but she handled it very well. Way to go, Big Sister! (she's pointing at the Carebear on my head Peggy used to get her to look at my camera, but we can pretend she's saying "I'm #1")

Some Photos of Mom & Dad...

Mom & Dad in the surgical waiting room. This is where the Drs. came to tell us how things went. Had a nice salt water fish tank too.

Mom & Dad celebrate their 10 year anniversary in style. Let's just say it will be memorable and Kate's successful surgery was the best gift EVER.
